This is a service, to our knowledge, that is completely "new" to some in the church world, which we believe should be made a precedent.
Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. (Nehemiah 2:18)
We don't know when or where this custom began; but we do know that it is a glorious tool that initiates conversation between the workers who are working on church building projects. Some of them may never darken the door of a church or gather together with church membership; but, for a short while, as they perform their skilled wormanship, they are able to take in God's word, heartfelt words of encouragement, and messages of hope written by members of the congregation who will occupy the new building.
We are grateful for Sunrush Construction Company out of Chillicothe, Ohio who suggested that "Holy Graffiti" be a definite part of our building project. Our congregation - both young and old - participated and we believe this is definitely one of the high points within the building process.
